Unique Seat Design
We all hate it when someone reclines their seat into our space - and they do because of the way conventional seats are designed.
In Economy cabins, where space is at a premium, it matters even more.
Blue Sky's seats don't have to. With a fixed outer shell and unique internal recline the clever geometry provides all the space and comfort you need to stretch out without bothering anyone around you, generating unrivalled space and comfort.
And with a light carbon structure, fuel burn and CO² emissions are reduced by up to 3%, contributing to a cleaner environment.
Our basic fixed Economy seat weighs just 6kg per pax and appeals to Low Cost Carriers operating short haul routes because the design offers more knee room and, through access to under seat space, greater leg room.
Our Economy Plus seat, weighing only 2kg more, provides even better access to under seat space, providing full lumbar support with a generous 40° recline.
Discomfort, especially on overnight flights, is very common: neck pain, numbness in the shoulders and buttocks, pins and needles in the feet, perhaps even a ‘dead leg’. The problem is that when we are tired we try to lie flat. In Economy, we can’t do that, so we contort ourselves into impossible positions.
The design challenge of ‘how to get a quart into a pint pot' and create more space and comfort within the existing envelope, required a step change to conventional seat architecture and won:
